Water Quality Laboratory

The Cobb County Water System reolcated its Water Quality Laboratory on July 1998. The 10,600 square foot facility houses the laboratory, Environmental Compliance Unit and a 1,600 sq foot training center equipped with the latest in multimedia equipment.
The lab operates seven days a week, testing samples from water reclamation facilities, industrial discharges, surface water, and stormwater runoff. Wastewater treatment analysis from the four reclamation facilities comprises 90 percent of the 90,000 analyses performed by the laboratory each year.
Honors: 2004 GAWP Outstanding Accomplishments in Laboratory Operation at a Municipal Wastewater Laboratory in the Category of Greater than 10 MGD.
Noonday Water Reclamation Facility

Capacity: 20 million gallons per day
Serves: Northeast Cobb, North Marietta, East Kennesaw, and portions of Cherokee County.
Honors: 2005 GAWP Gold Compliance Award
Northwest Water Reclamation Facility

Capacity: 8 million gallons per day
Serves: Northwest Cobb, Acworth, West Kennesaw, and portions of Cherokee and Bartow Counties.
Honors: 2006 GAWP Platinum Award for 5 consecutive years of complete and consistent NPDES Permit Compliance, and 2005 GAWP Plant of the Year Award for facilities under 10.0 MGD.
South Cobb Water Reclamation Facility

Capacity: 40 million gallons daily.
Serves: South Cobb, portions of West Cobb, Austell, Powder Springs and Mableton.
Recent Honors: 2006 GAWP Statewide Wastewater Plant Safety Award, 2005 GAWP Gold Compliance Award, and 2005 GAWP Plant of the Year Facility Award for Facilities greater than 10.1 MGD.
RL Sutton Water Reclamation Facility
5175 South Atlanta Rd
Capacity: 60 million gallons daily.
Serves: East Cobb, South Marietta, Smyrna, and portions of Fulton County.
Honors: 2006 GAWP Platinum Award for 7 consecutive years of complete and consistent NPDES Permit Compliance, and 2004 GAWP Plant of the Year over 10.1 MGD.
